Question 1. How do I find NRC patents?
Answer to question 1NRC patent records are not included in the NRC Publications Archive. To view NRC patents, please see the following resources:
- Canadian Intellectual Property Office
- United States Patent and Trademark Office
- European Patent Office
For patents filed in other countries, contact the patent office website of the country in question or see the PATENTSCOPE database from the World Intellectual Property Organization.
-
Question 2. How do I access the full text of the publication?
Answer to question 2The NRC Publications Archive is a citation database containing bibliographic information about NRC-authored publications. While every attempt is made to include full text, the database is not a full-text database.
When full text is available in the Archive, a "view" link will display alongside the citation. Click on a "view…" hyperlink from any brief citation in the "Recently added items" list, or in your search results list to access the full text.
This repository contains the version of the publication that NRC is allowed to deposit based on copyright. Due to copyright limitations, the available full text may be the author's version or the accepted manuscript rather than the publisher's version.
If you seek the publisher’s version and it is not available in the Archive, you can do the following to obtain a copy of the publisher’s version of the manuscript:
- For NRC-published works contact the NRC Publications Archive help desk.
- For third-party publications click on the title found in the brief citation and then click on the hyperlinked DOI or publisher URL from the full record display. Alternatively, you may use the citation information to find the manuscript on the publisher's website.
-
Question 3. Why do I get a Bad URL, Error 404 or some other not found message?
Answer to question 3If you encounter a link that does not work or if you have clicked on a part of a record and received an error message, please report this error as soon as possible by sending an email to PublicationsArchive-ArchivesPublications@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca.
-
