Résumé | The sinking of the MV Explorer in 2008 raised many questions about a marine disaster involving the sinking of a passenger ship in frigid waters far from search and rescue assets. One of these questions was whether or not crew on board vessels operating in remote inhospitable locations such as the Arctic are sufficiently trained for the unique challenges that exist. This report examines the challenges that crew and passengers may experience if a marine disaster was to occur in the Arctic and provides recommendations for training considerations to address them. |
