| Résumé | The tests performed in July 1998 with IMD Model 491 (R-Class Icebreakers) simulated maneuvering patterns in various ice conditions. Researchers at IMD are working toward a better understanding of the effects of different ice conditions on ship motions. These maneuvering tests were performed with the Planar Motion Mechanism (PMM) at IMD in order to obtain further information on ship-ice interactions in a variety of conditions. |
