Résumé | This paper presents new spectroscopic orbits of three binaries with evolved primaries and periods of the order of a few years, two of them very eccentric. All the orbits were determined primarily from observations made with the DAO 1.2-m telescope and coudé spectrograph. Observations were obtained using the radial velocity spectrometer until it was decommissioned in 2004, and since then using a CCD detector, and cross-correlating the spectra with those of standard stars. It will be evident that the latter procedure leads to smaller observational scatter than the former did. |
