| Résumé | In situ testing of the PB4 manifold sense line on a CF101 J57-P-55 engine has been carried out. Analysis of accelerometer data from two PB4 lines with two clamping arrangements has been conducted. The engine was run on a sea level test stand at power settings from idle to maximum afterburner. By clamping the line to the accessory gearbox case, fatigue related displacements were reduced by 10-75% depending on the throttle setting, from those found in the present line. The testing of a second line constructed without a bleed plug fitting showed a reduction by 97% from the displacements measured in the present configuration. Clamping of the modified line also resulted in a reduction of the low frequency vibrations at 100-400 Hz by 33-97% from those observed in the standard line alone. Both clamped lines retained resonant frequencies between 100-400 Hz albeit at reduced displacements and may therefore continue to be subject to failure. |
