Résumé
The ultrasonic technique for the nondestructive evaluation of elastic moduli is described. Its use in the application to polymers, whereby viscoelastic effects are eliminated, is discussed. Experimental results are given for composites containing high contrast (iron) spherical inclusions. The measurements are discussed in terms of available theoretical models. It is clearly demonstrated that models that account for the microscopic details of the material offer the best description of the bulk properties.
