Résumé	Concrete is a versatile construction material owing to its accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and superior properties such as non-combustibility and robustness, ranking as the second-most consumed substance globally after water. Nonetheless, the production of ordinary Portland cement (OPC), a primary component of concrete, is responsible for approximately 8% of the total global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In response to the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global temperature rise to below 2 °C above preindustrial levels, for example, Canada has adopted ambitious emission reduction goals, aiming for 40% reduction below 2005 levels by 2030 and striving for net-zero emissions by 2050. To this end, recent advances in the construction sector have increasingly focused on the development and utilization of "low-carbon" concrete alternatives.
