Résumé
Self propulsion in level ice are described, as conducted at Institute for Marine Dynamics, NRC, on a 1:15 scale model of CCGS Louis S. St. Laurent. The original bow, and proposed new bows, were tested. Experiments on channel breakout and ridge penetration were conducted and results of these show no significant difference in the performance of the two bows.
