| Résumé | The ultimate objective of a statistical representation for iceberg shape is to generate large numbers of representative icebergs that can be used for risk and impact load calculations for offshore installations. At present, there are less than 100 full measured iceberg profiles in existence. Some are inaccurate, are missing significant portions and are not stable hydrostatically. Generated icebergs would have a smooth transition through the waterline, which cannot be measured using present techniques, and would not suffer from degradation in accuracy at the base of the keel. |
