Abstract	The purpose of this report is to examine the performance of 1:7 scale models of a commercially available 16, 42, and 150 person life raft undertow by a two carriage and model Fast Rescue Craft (FRC). The use of models allows us to test the performance of the life rafts in weather conditions that would be too extreme to test in the field. The goal for this project is to use data collected at model scale to help fill in the knowledge gaps that currently exist in the operation of life rafts in weather conditions. This increase in knowledge would benefit marine operators, the regulatory bodies, the search and rescue planners, the trainingproviders, and the manufactures in developing new designs.
