Abstract | A twelve Angstron/mm blue spectrum of HD 187473, taken near phase of minimum light in uvby, has been analysed for element identifications. The silicon type classification (Bidelman, McConnell, 1973) is confirmed. The iron group spectra are weak, except for iron itself. Although blending is a serious problem, since rotational line broadening is important, some light and intermediate lanthanides have been readily identified. Strong lines of ionized europium have been found, while weaker stellar features have been attributed to La II and Pr II. Furthermore, there is statistical evidence for the presence of Ce II, Nd II, and Sm II. HD 187473 is the hottest peculiar star with a convincing evidence for ionized lanthanum. |
