| Abstract | An Arabidopsis thaliana cDNA, which complements the temperature-sensitive phenotype of an Escherichia coli mutant deficient in lyso-phosphatidic acid acyltransferase (EC2.3.1.51) activity, has been isolated a λYES expression library. The A. thaliana clone has high amino acid sequence homology with a parsley (Petroselinum crispum) S-adenosyl-L-methionine: trans-caffeoyl-Coenzyme A 3-O-methyltransferase (CCoAMT; EC 2.1.1..104). Isolation of this clone constitutes the first evidence that a gene for CCoAMT, implicated in disease resistance, is expressed in Arabidopsis sp. |
