Abstract | The design of a direction-finding system for the LF and VLF bands is discussed from the point of view of sensitivity. That portion of atmospheric noise which excludes high-level impulses and which is usually about 10 db below the rms level, is regarded as setting the lower limit of sensitivity. Instrumental errors are evaluated and some component design is given for a system which provides up to four independent outputs. |
