Abstract | The PyroLIBS sensor is a next generation technology for the iron and steel industry, capable of direct, real-time measurement of chemical composition for molten material. It is being developed in collaboration between Hatch and the National Research Council of Canada, and this current study presents the technical roadmap to-date, including test results. Applications currently being advanced include the measurement of silicon and manganese content in molten pig iron, and of carbon content in liquid steel in ladle metallurgical facility. |
