Abstract | The following paper describes recent efforts made by the National Research Council of Canada's Ocean, Coastal and River Engineering Research Centre to develop a real-time computer vision system in its Ice Tank facility. It describes the design of the camera system installation, as well as the various software tools created to collect and composite imagery, to process and extract ice field information, and to provide this situational awareness information to autonomous vessels for path-planning and following by interfacing with data acquisition software. |
