| Abstract | A method to produce dense WC-Co spheroidal particles was developed. The method consists in agglomerating mixtures of WC and Co powders with a paraffin binder in a tiled rotating cylinder. After a presintering step, the particles are cold isostatically pressed and sintered under vacuum at 1450oC. The resulting particles are fully dense. Particles containing 5, 10 and 15 wt % Co were fabricated. The agglomeration mechanisms and the characteristics of the WC-Co particles are discussed. |
