| Abstract | An important element of the AGARD Uniform Engine Test Program was the accurate calculation of engine fuel flow, which involves the establishment of fuel specific gravity and lower heating value. Values for these two parameters were obtained locally by the participating agencies and also, from samples submitted, by the Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory, NRCC. Differences between the values obtained by the participant and NRCC were assessed with reference to their impact on fuel flow calculation. The methods used by the Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory, NRCC, and a laboratory of Energy, Mines and Resources in analysing the fuels were inspected for their precision. |
