| Abstract | A "Paper Drying Expert System" (PDES) prototype is being developed as a diagnostic consultant for troubleshooting dryer sections of paper machines. It is currently undergoing validation in two pulp and paper mills, scheduled to be completed in September 1994. A requirement that the PDES be configurable for many possible dryer configurations is a major consideration. This paper describes the project with a focus on how this requirement is satisfied in the design. |
