Abstract	A comprehensive national survey in 1982-83 was reported on in Construction R.D. & D. in Canada. Subsequently the Institute for Research in Construction (IRC) of the National Research Council Canada has periodically commissioned a survey of construction R&D organizations in the country to: identify them and their areas of R&D interest - facilitate networking through the naming of principal contacts - track trends among the various sectors.
