Abstract | Virtual reality (VR) technology enables new forms of control for robot operations. This paper describes a VR-based proof-of-concept user interface that has been developed to demonstrate new control techniques for the Space Station Remote Manipulator System. Those techniques aim at improving overall operation performance and safety by using the combined power of VR, predictive displays and direct manipulation. |
