| Abstract | NRC is developing a technology demonstrator of a stretchable morphing leading edge. Shape optimization of two concepts of droop leading edge was performed using a low-order CFD approach with the Method of Moving Asymptotes optimization approach. A prototype demonstrator was built using the optimal shapes with a novel nanocomposite material and internal mechanism. This paper describes the aerodynamic part of the development. |
