| Abstract | Three prototype exhaust systems with infrared signature suppression capabilities have been developed by Davis Engineering for the Bell 212/412 helicopter. The performance of a T400-CP-400 helicopter engine assembly and its associated air management system was measured in a test cell at the Structures, Materials, and Propulsion Laboratory of the National Research Council of Canada. The engine was first tested with an original airframe exhaust system then with each of the prototype exhaust systems installed. This report contains the results of these tests, the test methodology, and a description of the test facility and data system. |
