Abstract | National Research Council Canada (NRC) is a leader in scientific and technical research and it is a major player in R&D of batteries, fuel cell and supercap in Canada. Over the past 3 years, these activities have been oriented to the automotive and stationary applications. One goal is to support the development and growth of a strong Canadian value-chain in batteries that will lower cost and improve performance of xEV batteries. We will present an overview of NRC research and latest developments in the fields Li-ion, Li-air and Zn-air batteries, supercapacitors, and modeling and testing of Li-ion cells and modules. We will also introduce our technology roadmap, current technical capability and future facilities to meet our short-term and longer-term goals. |
