The scope of this report is the work performed during the summer of 2000 on the assembly and testing of the ice opens boat. The ice opens boat was designed as a replacement for the previous ice opens boat that was damaged during testing. This version of the ice opens boat was designed by Oceanic. The fabrication of the ice opens boat's shell was carried out by PCN Industrial, based on this design. This report with the fabrication of components for the ice opens boat, ranging from the propeller's shaft to the seals required to water tighten the ice opens boat. It details the procedures involved in the alignment of the various components of the structure and the preliminary testing of the ice opens boat to ensure that the components operated efficiently. It also details several revisions to the original design concept and the reasoning behind them. Finally, the dry fitting of the ice opens boat is explained along with the modifications that ensued.
