| Abstract | At the request of Dominion Bridge Co. Ltd. vibration measurements on two Remington Mighty-Mite 500 chain saws were carried out and the results analyzed on a narrow band spectrum analyzer. The essential difference between the two saws was that one utilized a single piece crankshaft design, referred to herein as the one-piece crank saw, while the other saw utilized a crankshaft assembled from five separate pieces and in this report it is referred to as the five-piece crank saw. |
