| Abstract | The Division of Mechanical Engineering of the National Research Council is constructing a "Curved Track Simulator" for dynamic testing of railroad rolling stock negotiating bends. This report describes the design and static load testing of a prototype oil-lubricated thrust bearing for the simulator. Results of the tests show that the design parameters of load capacity, stiffness and oil film thickness have been met. |
