Abstract | The Green-Nagdhi (GN) theory of fluid sheet is used to simulate the propagation of nonlinear, irregular, uni- and mulit-directional waves in deep water. An interative algorithm is introduced for the solution of 2-D and 3-D GN models. Numerical experiments are carried out to investigate the effects of finite difference schemes and a representative frequency used in the GN models. A comparative computation is carried out using both the 3-D GN model and conventional finite difference method to validate the 3-D GN model. The propagation of multi-directional waves is simulated by the 3-D GN model. |
