Abstract | An analytical challenge has been published in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry Journal which provides a solution to Mendeleyev vodka challenge. The strength of alcohol can be changed easily, by mixing various volumes of water and ethanol. The proper analysis of organic compounds was established, a distilled spirit was proved by dissolving gun powder in the spirit and igniting it. Aerometers are the status quo in spirit analysis, which owes to the large difference between the density of pure water and alcohol. The alcoholic strength by volume is defined as the ratio of volume of ethanol, measured at 20 ° C, contained in the mixture to total volume of mixture, measured at same temperature. Perfect vodka can be attained by mixing a volume contraction of ethanol and water in the ratio of 1:3 and high strength vodka of Japan is obtained from Okuhida rice. |
