| Abstract | The IN-625 and IN-738 superalloy components produced by laser consolidation process are metallurgically sound, free of cracks or porosity. Due to the rapid solidification inherent to this process, the LC IN-625 and IN-738 materials show exceptionally fine columnar dendritic microstructures with crystallographically preferred orientation along <10> direction. The effects of heat treatment on microstructures of the LC IN-625 and IN-738 materials are outlined. |
