Abstract | The results of a fire resistance test conducted at NRC on a reinforced concrete column, made by the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), are described. The test was carried out as a part of a study on concrete-filled steel columns to determine the influence of the steel encasing on the fire resistance of the column. This influence can be assessed by comparing the results with those obtained for a similar column with steel encasing. The dimensions of the tested column were 300 mm x 300 mm x 3810 mm and itwas constructed of Finish siliceous aggregate concrete. |
