Abstract | Automatic sprinkler systems have played a key role in fire protection engineering for over a century. Based on a review of statistical data, this Digest shows the reliability of such systems in place to be in excess of 96%. Means are suggested to improve this reliability to 99% through proper design, inspection and maintenance of systems. |
