Abstract | In this report, the results of tests on two columns, constructed and tested at the Tianjin Fire Research Institute (TFRI) are described. The tests were carried out mainly for the purpose of verifying the characteristics of a newly-built column furnace at TFRI and providing data for the evaluation of methods for the calculation of the fire resistance of reinforced concrete columns made with materials, commonly used in China. The columns were made with siliceous and carbonate aggregates. The study variables included column length, dimensions of cross-section and eccentricity of load. |
