Abstract | The building damage caused by a series of tornadoes in the Barrie/Orangeville area on 31 May 1985 is described and related to the human casualties that occurred. The damage suggests certain changes are needed in Canadian building practice, and the National Building Code of Canada. Safe refuge areas during a tornado are discussed. |
