| Abstract | This is the second annual survey report outlining the activities of the ACV industry in Canada. It deals with the activities of the NRC Associate Committee on Air Cushion Technology, commercial activities in the development and manufacture of ACV’s in Canada, and research and development activities in Canadian universities and in various government departments.
Activity in the field of ACV technology was at a high level during 1973. As in any relatively new technology, ideas outran available money. This was evident in all phases of work, research and development, and also manufacturing. This situation will no doubt continue for some time. Because of this, extreme care must be taken to ensure that available funds are spent most effectively so that the results obtained will ensure that this technology will remain viable. |
