| Abstract | A new metabolite has been isolated from the fungus Monochaetiacompta. The properties and reactions of the metabolite suggest that it is 6,8a-dihydro-4-acetyl-8-methyl-6-oxo-7(3-methyl-2-oxo)-pentyl-1 H-2-benzopyran-1-one (2a). |
