| Abstract | A set of macros were written for Excel, using Visual Basic. The macros calculate thermodynamic and transport properties of dry air and dry air with kerosene combustion products. In addition, macros are included for compressible duct flow calculations and isentropic relations. The macros facilitate basic thermo-fluid calculations in Excel making them simpler, faster and more accurate. It is expected that this set of macros will expand as more functions are developed as needed.
A copy of the Excel spreadsheet containing the macros, examples of their use and validation, will be placed on the Propulsion Group drive at the following location:
V:\Misc\Model FunctionsVThermo macros Vl.xls
To use the macros:
1. Open your spreadsheet
2. Open the macro spreadsheet
3. From the Excel menu bar choose: Tools - Macro - Visual Basic Editor
4. In the Visual Basic Editor under VBAProject, drag the modules from the macro spreadsheet to your spreadsheet
The macros will now be part of your spreadsheet. If you are producing a new spreadsheet you can save the macro spreadsheet under a new name and delete or modify the existing worksheets.
The macros are written and tested in the following versions of the Excel and Visual Basic:
Microsoft Visual Basic 6.3
Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP2 |
