| Abstract | This report describes gas path debris monitoring tests carried out on a T56-A7B gas turbine engine during endurance test runs using a higher density Strategic Military Fuel (SMF). The hoop and button sensors used were able to detect an increase in electrostatic charge at the 25 hour power check. This correlated with thermodynamic performance measurements which showed a decline in performance and with the end of test inspection which found damaged components. |
