| Abstract | A Fortran package is described which supports highly dynamic graphics applications on a PDP-11 facility running under RSX-11M. The emphasis is on the design choices and the necessity for building the package. Performance is achieved by double buffering, on-the-fly updates, garbage collection and stepwise system degradation as the display file is filled. The display file is table driven and consists of variable length segments, each of which comprises a linked list of fixed-length blocks. The display file table contains segment addresses and status data which are accessed by the driver. |
