| Abstract | Synthesis of Ti(C,N)Fe cermets was carried out by the direct reaction of ferro-titanium alloys with carbon and nitrogen. Thermal analysis was used to monitor the reactions and the composition of the reacted products was analyzed as a function of the heat treatments. Materials sintered at 1500°C contained finely dispersed and hard particles whose hardness reaches 2500 Hv. |
