| Abstract | This guide describes a framework for interpreting, assessing, and rating the speech privacy and speech security of closed meeting rooms and offices. The document provides a concise technical overview of the underlying concepts and defines categories for rating and setting criteria. This guide also contains a detailed measurement procedure to be followed by technicians or consultants performing field measurements, and guidance for specifying suitable constructions at the design stage. The measurement procedure follows the steps described in a new ASTM measurement standard (ASTM 2638-08). |
