| Abstract | The size of the ice damage zone around conical structures was characterized by analyzing the results of physical model tests, numerical modeling and full-scale field observations. It is found that the size of the damage zone increases with increasing ice thickness and is a strong function of the ice morphology. The results are discussed in terms of the safe evacuation from an offshore conical structure in ice-covered waters. |
