| Abstract | Aerothermodynamic modelling of gas turbine engines without the use of manufacturer's design data requires specialized analysis. Test cell data and empirical relationships are used to develop reasonable estimates, which are thermodynamically consistent. The specific application presented in this report is for the J85 engine with afterburner. Both design point and operating line estimation methods are presented in the form of algorithms. Methodologies for temperature-limited and afterburner operation are also provided. |
