Abstract
YBa₂Cu₃Oₓ pellets were produced using the solid-state reaction of Y₂O₃, BaO₂ and CuO powders. The synthesis has been studied using different reaction temperatures ranging from 810 to 1010 degrees C for a period of 1.5 to 24 h. The effect of an exposure of the starting mixture to the ambient atmosphere before reaction has been investigated. The use of an inert atmosphere during reaction is also reported.
