Abstract | This report describes a set of algorithms for the calm water resistance and self-propulsion (RSP) analysis programs written in the early 80's. The report is designed to be used by the IMD Software Engineering group to rewrite these programs using an updated structure compatible with existing hardware. The report also contains a description of the various subroutines called by the analysis suite as well as a description of the data retrieval system employed at the time the programs were written. It also contains a series of flow charts for each program as well as a discussion on a number of naval architectural principles related to resistance and self-propulsion such as analysis theory, testing procedures, model and propeller descriptions, and a number of associated terms and definitions. |
