| Abstract | We report on co-tunneling measurements of a few electron lateral double quantum dot device connected in series to spin-polarized leads. A state of only one of the two dots is aligned at resonance with the leads. At this operation point, current can only flow via virtual transitions (co-tunneling events) in the Coulomb blockaded dot. We present the magnetic field dependence of the co-tunneling current and compare it with the Coulomb blockade peaks of the individual dots in the equivalent occupation number and field regime. We find that the resonant dot acts as a `spin valve' for the co-tunneling transport as well as an electrometer sensitive to charge redistribution in the blockaded dot. |
