| Abstract | The engineering aspects associated with the launching of three scientific sounding rockets are described. The vehicles, AAA-II-101, AAA-II-102, and AA-II-105, were launched from Churchill Research Range in January-February 1967. These launchings were a continuation of the series sponsored by the National Research Council's Associate Committee on Space Research. The report includes a description of the payloads, the objectives of the experiments, the launching phase, and a discussion of the processed engineering data. Vehicle AAA-II-102 was launched with recovery by parachute as the objective, but a failure occurred a sa result of incomplete drogue deployment. However, the payload was recovered, including a number of very good high-altitude photographs taken from the rocket in flight. |
