| Abstract | An observatory has been built in Canada for high resolution cinematography of active regions in the solar photosphere and chromosphere. The installation on the shore of the Ottawa River is the successor to solar facilities maintained at the Dominion Observatory from 1905 to 1970. The building, telescope, and automated control system are described with comments on the factors that influenced their design. |
