Abstract
Measurement assurance involves the combination of the intrinsic uncertainties of the instruments used in a measurement procedure with the uncertainties associated with the actual use of the instruments and with the possible uncertainties due to the measuring procedure used in order to provide a meaningful statement of the total uncertainty of the measurement process.
