| Abstract | We briefly review the features of interband cascade lasers (ICLs) and discuss rationales for using an InAs-based plasmon waveguide configuration for extending efficient operation of ICLs to long wavelengths. We then present our recent progress in InAs-based ICLs based on an advanced waveguide configuration. We demonstrated room temperature continuous wave operation of ICLs at wavelengths longer than 6 μm. |
